Authentication

Data Integrity Suite's APIs provide multiple authentication methods. Whether you want to pass the API Key and Secret directly using a custom authorization header or authenticate using a bearer token, you can do either using an authorization header.

The three ways of authentication are:

  1. Sign In to Developer Portal
  2. Using API Key and Secret
  3. Using bearer token

The last two methods use the HTTP Authorization header, enabling seamless integration depending on your security preferences and technical setup.

Signing in to the Developer Portal automatically generates a bearer token, logging you in and providing instant access to the Data Integrity Suite APIs. If you don't have an account, start a free trial now.

Using API Key and Secret

This method eliminates the need to generate and manage tokens. After receiving your credentials, pass the API Key and Secret using a custom authorization header.

  1. Before using the below API, ensure you generate your API key and API secret from Data Integrity Suite (Account > API Keys).
  2. Encode the API Key and Secret in Base64 format as Base64(ApiKey:ApiSecret)
  3. Use the encoded string in the "Authenticate with API Key" dialog on the API tryout page.
http
Authorization: Basic base64(Key + ":" + secret)

Using bearer token

This endpoint generates an access-token based on the provided access keys. The access token is transmitted in the HTTP Authorization header as a bearer token.

  1. Use the Request access token endpoint to obtain an access token.
  2. Pass the API Key and Secret as a Basic Authentication header (Base64(api_key:api_secret)).
  3. Select the above endpoint and click Send in your Postman interface.
  4. Analyze the response and copy the token.
  5. Include the copied token in the "Authorize with bearer token" dialog as access-token on the API tryout page.

The token expires one hour after it is generated. Ensure you use the token within this timeframe to avoid authentication issues.

Authorization: Bearer <access-token>
